Fishing cards

The need for a fishing licence:

In our country, the right to fish belongs either to the State or to riparian owners.

These bodies grant the management and maintenance of the river network to fishermen grouped in Associations Agréées pour la Pêche et la Protection du Milieu Aquatique (AAPPMA).

On the public or private domain conceded to the AAPPMAs, each person wishing to fish must be in possession of a card that will make him/her a member of an AAPPMA.

This membership gives the right to fish:

- In the association's lots, to all types of authorised fishing,

- In the lots of associations or federations with which there are reciprocal agreements,

- In the waters of the public domain of the State with a single line (common fishing).

The Fishing Guide of the Moselle Departmental Fishing Federation, which can be consulted at www.federationpeches57.fr, gives all the useful information.

The different fishing cards:

There are several types of fishing cards to meet the needs of each category of angler. You will find them and their prices on the site.

These can range from 100€ for the card offering reciprocity with a very large number of AAPPMA, to 6€ for our youngest friends who wish to discover fishing.

As of 2018, fishing cards and any options are to be issued by a computerised procedure; either directly from your personal computer by logging on to the website www.cartedepeche.fr , or by going to a tackle retailer who will issue the card on your behalf and will also be happy to tell you about the fishing opportunities in the surrounding area.
